Into Thy Hands Verse 1 — From the Father Before the dust had learned to breathe, Before the stars were named, I was with My Father’s love, Before the world knew shame. I came not crowned in earthly gold, Not born in palace light, But hidden in a virgin womb, To enter mankind’s night. The One who gave the breath of life Became a child so small, The Word came down in flesh and tears, To carry Adam’s fall. Chorus Into Thy hands, Father, I surrender, Into Thy will, I give My all. Love brought Me down, love held Me under, Love raised the Life no grave could hold. I am the Lamb, I am the offering, I am the Last Adam, faithful and true. The debt was nailed, the record cancelled, And I have overcome for you. Verse 2 — The Ministry I walked the roads where sinners wept, I touched the ones cast out, I healed the blind, I raised the dead, I answered fear and doubt. I called the fishermen by name, I sat where shame had been, I preached the kingdom of My God, And mercy over sin. But many wanted bread alone, And signs without the cost, They wanted freedom from their chains, But not to save the lost. Verse 3 — The Supper and the Garden At supper with the ones I loved, I broke the bread and wine, I washed their feet with servant hands, Though betrayal sat beside Mine. I saw the silver, saw the kiss, I saw the fear to come, Yet still My heart remained in love, Until the work was done. Then in the garden sorrow pressed, The cup stood full and near, I bowed beneath My Father’s will, And gave Him every fear. Pre-Chorus Not My will, but Thine be done, Not My path, but Yours alone. For the sheep, I lay life down, For the lost, I leave the throne. Verse 4 — The Trial They came with torches in the night, They bound the Prince of Peace, False voices rose in holy robes, Demanding My release. They asked Me if I was the Son, I did not hide the Name, They called the truth blasphemy, And covered hate with blame. Pilate asked, “What is the truth?” While Truth before him stood, The innocent was handed over, The guilty freed for good. Verse 5 — The Crown and the Garments Then came the stripes upon My flesh, The mocking and the thorn, A crown of pain placed on the head Of Him for sinners born. They bowed in false and cruel display, Not knowing heaven saw The Lamb who would fulfill the Word, And satisfy the law. They cast their lots for garments there, They gambled at My feet, But I was clothing sinful man In mercy full and free. Verse 6 — The Offering They lifted Me before the world, And darkness filled the sky, The rulers mocked, the soldiers laughed, Yet still I chose to die. I prayed forgiveness over them, I gave My mother care, I welcomed one repentant soul To paradise from there. No man could take My life from Me, No empire owned My breath, I laid it down before My God, And entered into death. Refrain Father, into Thy hands, I commit My spirit. Father, into Thy hands, Let heaven hear it. Verse 7 — The Tomb Then Joseph came and begged the body, After judgment had gone through, Habeas corpus cried too late, Yet love still honoured truth. They wrapped Me in a borrowed tomb, A quiet, hidden place, The stone was sealed, the guards were set, As men tried binding grace. They guarded silence through the night, But could not guard the dawn, For what the Father planted there Would rise when death was gone. Bridge — The Third Day On the third day, life answered, The stone had no command. The grave clothes lay behind Me, Death lost its final hand. The shroud could never hold Me, The seal could never stay, The soldiers could not stop the Life My Father raised that day. Mary heard Me call her name, The mourners turned to see, The Shepherd still knew all His sheep, And mercy made them free. Verse 8 — Thomas and the Cancelled Debt Thomas doubted what he heard, His grief demanded proof, So I showed the marks of mercy, The wounds that spoke the truth. Put your finger in the places, See the price that love has paid, These are not marks of defeat, But the receipt that debt was paid.
