This is my Charter, sealed from above,
The Bible, my birthright, my banner of love.
It shows me the mind of the Father so true,
Reveals man’s condition and life’s narrow view.
The path of salvation is clear on each page,
The end of all debtors, the joy of the sage!

Written in glory, sealed in His Name!
Read it and rise, believe and be brave,
Christ is my Freedom, my life from the grave!

Its doctrines are holy, its precepts are sure,
Its history faithful, its judgments endure.
It’s light for my journey, and food for my soul,
A comfort in trials, when storms take their toll.
The compass that guides me, the staff in my hand,
The sword of the Spirit by which I shall stand!

And warns of the debt where the lost ones abide.
But Christ is the Key, the Way and the Door,
The Charter proclaims Him forevermore!
It’s treasure to cherish, not riches of lies,
No fake money tree, no worldly disguise!

O read it with reverence, and hide it within,
For judgment is coming to reckon with sin.
But loved, it is mercy; obeyed, it is might,
Believed, it is shelter, a fortress of light!
The Charter of Zion, the Word of the Lord,
Our kingdom, our freedom, our shield and our sword!
