INFORMATION WE COLLECT
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information obtained through our website, educational-resource requests, Meta Instant Forms and email communications.
When you request an educational resource, join our email list or communicate with us, we may collect:
• Your first name
• Your email address
• The date and source of your request
• Your consent and subscription status
• Information you voluntarily provide in correspondence
Meta may also provide administrative information associated with an Instant Form submission, such as the form, campaign or advertisement through which the request was made.
Our website host and third-party services may automatically process limited technical information, such as IP addresses, browser information and basic server logs, for security and operational purposes.
HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We may use the information collected to:
• Provide a requested preview, publication or educational resource
• Send related educational emails and follow-up material
• Maintain subscription and consent records
• Respond to questions or requests
• Measure the general performance of educational and advertising campaigns
• Protect the security and proper operation of our website and communications
We do not use submitted information to provide individualized legal representation or professional legal advice.
EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS AND CONSENT
When you submit a Meta Instant Form or another subscription form containing an email-consent statement, you are requesting the identified resource and consenting to receive the associated delivery email and occasional related educational communications.
Every marketing or educational email sent through our mailing service includes an unsubscribe link. You may withdraw your consent at any time by using that link or contacting us directly.
After an unsubscribe request, limited information may be retained on a suppression list to ensure that the address is not unintentionally subscribed again without new consent.
HOW INFORMATION IS SHARED
We do not sell or rent personal information.
Information may be processed by service providers that help us operate our communications and educational services, including:
• Meta, when an individual submits a Meta Instant Form
• MailerLite, which hosts and delivers our email communications
• Our WordPress website and website-hosting providers
• Other technical providers used to maintain security and service operation
These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy practices. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, protect our services or respond to a valid legal requirement.
DATA RETENTION
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the requested material, maintain our communications, document consent, honour unsubscribe requests and meet legitimate administrative or legal requirements.
When information is no longer required, we may delete, anonymize or securely dispose of it, subject to necessary suppression and recordkeeping requirements.
SECURITY
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect personal information. Nevertheless, no internet transmission, email system or electronic storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
INTERNATIONAL PROCESSING
Some service providers, including Meta and MailerLite, may process or store information outside Canada. Information processed in another country may be subject to the laws and lawful-access requirements of that jurisdiction.
THIRD-PARTY LINKS
Our website, download pages and emails may contain links to third-party platforms, including YouTube and Patreon. Their handling of information is governed by their respective privacy policies, not this Policy.
At the effective date of this Policy, the dedicated preview download page does not use a Meta Pixel or a separate advertising-tracking plugin. This Policy may be updated if our website tools or data practices change.
CHILDREN
Our educational resources and mailing list are intended for adults and are not knowingly directed toward children under 18. If we learn that personal information was submitted by a child without appropriate authorization, we may delete it.
YOUR CHOICES AND REQUESTS
You may contact us to:
• Ask what personal information we maintain about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Withdraw email consent
• Request deletion, subject to necessary recordkeeping requirements
